UK riots day for: Regional unrest

Jonathan Brown offers his views in the Architects Journal on the riots 

"Jonathan Brown of Urbed said that in Toxteth, Liverpool, there had been ‘copy-cat burning and looting’ but not on the scale of the riots which took place there in 1981.

He said: ‘To be honest I saw more TV satellite trucks than burning barricades as I went round L8 [the area] this morning at 9am.’

URBED at Greenbuild EXPO

URBED is delighted to be exhibiting as part of the Manchester City Council stand at Greenbuild EXPO 2010 taking place at Manchester Central over Wednesday 26th May and Thursday 27th May between 9.30am and 4pm.

The event is FREE so please come along to absorb and reflect on all the 'green -love'.

Having Their Say in Walsall

A roundtable discussion was held a week ago. The results were really interesting, with the good people of Walsall receptive to constructive critique and welcomde ‘fresh eyes’ looking at the centre of the town. The results show a strong desire to create a "future heritage", as much as celebrate the history of the area and a need to reflect and celebrate the town’s cultural and ethnic diversity.

Official Bakery Opening

Today was the official opening of the Bakery, this will now be a hub for the project with weekly workshops happening with the young people from ABCC youth group.

Please go along to 199 Oakfield Street, L4 0UF (opposite Liverpool FC) on the following days over the next few weeks:
