Disseminating SUNN lessons

The SUNN network may have come to its end with the launch of its findings in February this year but the conclusions and lessons learnt continue to be shared around the U.K.

Members from the SUNN network came to York on 20 June 2012 to see the impressive progress made at Derwenthorpe. The new village is designed to use much less energy, thanks to a ‘heat engine’, and the homes are selling for a premium.

The 2up 2down/ Homebaked project was recently the subject of an article in The Big Issue in the North by Deborah Mulhearn.

The article has comments from residents who have formed a Community Land Trust and really sums up what the project is about. Read the full article here.

Rochdale: abuse, misogyny and misrepresentation

The piece also includes a link to an article by Charlie Baker from URBED about our experiece of working in the divided communities of Oldham and Rochdale.

Trafford Eco-House Planning Application Submitted

URBED has recently put together a planning application for Trafford Eco House. This has gone to Trafford Council's planning department and we are waiting for a decision.
