Should good urbanists avoid green fields?
Wednesday 26th April, 2017
Today David is chairing the Academy of Urbanism's sold out spring debate, taking place in London 6-8:30pm. This year the academy is examining the contentious issue of where to build. We will hear arguments for and against the motion ‘This house believes that good urbanists should generally avoid green fields’.
Speaking for the motion:
Kathryn Firth, AoU Director and Partner at FPdesign
Belinda Gordon, Head of Government and Rural Affairs and CPRE
Speaking against the motion:
Hillary Satchwell AoU, Director of Tibbalds
Louisa Nie, Development Manager at Grosvenor Britain and Ireland
Preceeding the debate is the annual Urbanism Awards Finalists Selection workshop session (14:30 - 17:30), where there will be a collective decision upon the three finalists in each category for the 2017 Urbanism Awards: Great Place, Street, Neighbourhood, Town and European City of the Year.
