Progress of the Planning Application and Feedback from the Public Exhibitions

The team are in the process of pulling together a planning application for the Vaux site, which is due to be submitted in the coming weeks.

This will be a hybrid application consisting of an outline application for the whole site, and a detailed application for phase 1 of the scheme, to include details for the first building and infrastructure works on the site.

LGBT Centre - Public Consultation Event

We would like to invite you to come and take a look at the proposals for the new LGBT Centre. On 15th December we will be helping to explain the scheme at an event to display proposals for neighbours, users, staff and the public. Everyone is welcome to attend, you can drop in between 4.30 and 6.30pm. The proposals will then continue to be on display if you can't make it at that time.

Trent Basin Phase 1 on site

Wilmott Dixon are currently on site constructing Phase one of Trent Basin.  You can view progress on the webcam here

Phase one will provides 45 low-energy family homes that will be completed by spring 2016, with subsequent phases following over the next few years.

Seaburn Consultation Results

We would like to thank everyone who came down to view the initial masterplan proposals at the Seaburn Centre last month. We had a huge level of responses, which demonstrates how important Seaburn is to the people of Sunderland.

Chapelgarth Public Consultation Results

New Bolton Woods gets Planning Permission

Last week Bradford Metroplitan District Counil granted outline planning permission for the New Bolon Woods masterplan. 

This will see over 30 hectares of land being developed and will include 1000 new houses, a new local centre with shops and a primary school as well as new and improved sports facilities and a health centre.&n

Feature in the Observer on the Malings, Ouseburn

We're currently working on the stage 3 footprint® assessment for the Malings in the Ouseburn Valley. The first phase of housing, designed by Ash Sakula architects, was completed earlier this year. We've followed this project since inception, so it's interesting to see what others think of it. Observer/Guardian writer Rowan Moore published a piece last week (see the link on the right), describing the development of 'modest urban dwellings' as a 'masterclass in quiet invention, style and sustainable living.'

A short walking tour about Manchester's LGBT Centre

Emily will be running a short walking tour which tells the story of how Manchester became the first place to build an entirely publicly funded, purpose designed centre for the gay community, just as Thatcher’s government were enacting Section 28.
