Feedback from the July Stakeholder Workshop

In July we invited local businesses, community groups and stakeholders to attend a roundtable exhibition to discuss our emerging proposals for the Vaux Site. The aim of the workshop was to get local perspectives on the use of the site and make sure our masterplan was on the right track before wider public engagement.

A total of 27 people attended the workshop and four priority 'themes' emerged from the consultation, details below:

Kipling Estates secures planning

igloo have been acting as development managers for the Leathermarket Community Benefit Society who are looking to bring forward a new residential led development on the site of existing garages on the Kipling Estate adjacent to Weston Street, SE1 (Bermondsey, London). The development of the site offers the opportunity to provide much needed genuinely affordable homes in the local area, designed specifically by and for the local community. The proposals cover 27 apartments and maisonettes, include 3 wheelchair accessible flats, communal gardens and a communal terrace.

Thursday 2nd July, 2015

Nicholas Falk is quoted in todays Financial Times in an article titled Oxford and Cambridge: tale of two cities shows housing disparity.

For centuries they have been England’s twin cities, seats of learning and, now, booming science and technology economies. But despite all the parallels there is one area in which Oxford and Cambridge differ: housing.

The leaders of both cities think this will be the vital determinant of their relative future success or failure.

Planning Approved!

We're pleased to announce that Toxteth Food Central recieved planning permission at the end of April 2015. We're now working hard to finalise the details of the scheme, before starting on site this summer. Squash Nutrition have appointed a contractor - Ellis Murray Group - and they're keen to get going as soon as possible. We've also had further meetings with the community design team, to discuss matters such as window opening styles and finishes.
