URBANIST
Grade: Graduate / Consultant Level

We are looking to recruit a Town Planner to join our team of urban designers, planners, architects and sustainable urbanists. As a design led practice we are looking for an individual with a keen interest in design led development along with a sound understanding of regeneration and planning. The role will involve working on a wide variety of projects ranging in scale from regional visions and strategies to individual sites. Good report writing, research and analytical skills will be essential along with a willingness to actively participate in hands on community workshops.
The individual will have a wider interest in, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to, urban design, sustainability and community engagement in their work and studies.

REQUIREMENTS//

Academic qualifications: Post-grad Qualification in Town Planning (MTCP, MPLAN or equivalent)

Professional Experience: Graduate or up to 1-2 years Professional Experience within the Built Environment

- Excellent report writing skills
- Strong research and analytical skills
- An up to date knowledge of planning legislation
- Ability to demonstrate good visual communication skills
- Self-motivated individual capable of working independently
- Excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong interest in working with communities
- Excellent time management skills
- Willingness to contribute to the broader work of the co-operative

Desirable Skills
- Workshop facilitation experience
- Experience of working with GIS
- Experience of working with indesign, illustrator and photoshop

JOB INFO//

Location: The position will be based at our office located in the Northern Quarter, Manchester.

Salary: Consultant Level (£18,000 - £22,000) Salary dependant on experience
