Please note, our bus has now moved on to pastures new and is no longer available for hire. We had a lot of fun with it, but know it will be well used and cared for at its new home with Red Routemaster

What do you do when you want to consult in a neighbourhood that is hard to reach without sitting in the corner of a community centre watching the clock slowly tick? You buy an old London Routemaster bus and drive it somewhere obvious, turn off the engine and watch people swarm.

The bus made its debut in Rochdale for URBED's work in the Inner Rochdale neighbourhoods, it has since gone on to do urban design tours of Manchester, consultations in Sheffield and a stint north of the border for Irvine Bay. It has also had the honour of escorting the entire URBED team on to a number of events and has even made an appearance at a wedding or two . A truly magnificent steed.

If you are interested in hiring our bus please get in touch.

As part of our work with local communities we have run a number of bus tours around a variety of new projects within Manchester. The tour provides an opportunity to see different projects that track development from Hulme through to the present day.

The tours take place on our Routemaster Bus and are accompanied by a running commentary from Charlie Baker. If you would like to arrange a tour please email bus@urbed.coop
