We are looking to recruit a Sustainable Urbanist to join our team of urban designers, planners and architects.

We are looking to recruit an urbanist / designer to join our team of urban designers, planners, architects and sustainable urbanists. As a design led practice we are looking for an individual with excellent design and visual communication skills.  The role will involve working on a wide variety of projects ranging in scale from regional visions and strategies to individual sites.  Good research and analytical skills will be needed along with a willingness to actively participate in hands on community workshops. The individual will have a wider interest in, and be able to demonstrate a commitment to, sustainable design and community engagement in their work and studies.

REQUIREMENTS//

Academic Qualififcations: Postgraduate qualification in the Built Environment or Environmental Science, Architecture, Engineering or equivalent.

Professional Experience: 1-2 years professional experience working in the field of sustainability in the built environment.

Key Skills:

  • Strong research, analytical and evaluation skills
  • Excellent written communication skills
  • Broad understanding of the built environment and sustainability
  • Good verbal and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Self-motivated idividual capable of working independantly
  • Good time management skills and the ability to work to multiple deadlines
  • Willingness to contribute to the broader work of the cooperative
  • Up-to-date technical and policy knowledge of sustainability in the built environment
  • Ability to contribute effectively to multi-disciplinary project teams

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of energy and environmental modelling or willingness to learn about this.
  • Experience of working with GIS
  • Workshop facilitation experience.
  • Interest in working with communities

JOB INFO//

Location:  The position will be based at our office located in the Northern Quarter, Manchester. 

Salary: Consultant Level (£18,200 - £26,400) Salary dependant on experience
