On 22nd October 2019 we formally launched URBED+, an innovative collaboration between academia and practice. We have partnered with Manchester School of Architecture to form a vehicle for research, advocacy, education and public engagement in urban issues. This offers the opportunity to develop research that has real-world impact.
Embedded within URBED+ is the postgraduate MArch Atelier LULU Landscape+Urbanism, which combines academic teaching with URBED's practice based experience. URBED staff are tutors, coming in to deliver workshops, tutorials, lectures and seminars that match our particular skill set. We have phased the involvement of each staff member to match the desired learning outcomes of the atelier, making use of the diverse knowledge within our multidisciplinary practice.
The following projects have been or are being delivered through URBED+
- Greater Manchester Spatial Framework
- PhD Scholarship: Retrofit at an urban scale
- Smart Cities
- Tales of the High Street
- Public Realm for Autonomous Vehicles
- 4x4 Manchester event series
- National Housing Design Audit
