The Zion Square 'The six ages of Hulme' represent memories and local important events through a series of steel panels images cast directly into trenches at pavement level. The Treasure Island play area was designed and constructed by a local design and construction cooperative Build for Change. Gates, furniture, the Sea Dragon and other play structures were created and designed by local school children. The Activity area surfacing, along with a mosaic path, was designed by a local artist with the participation of Proctors Youth Club. The Sensory Garden, one of three themed gardens, one of which was 'Tell me your secrets', had hidden handmade envelopes containing residents secrets and which were cast into resin blocks. These blocks were inserted into the gabion walling. Pod benches were designed after a ceramic workshop led by Tom Barnett.
