Food for Real Festival - Spring
Sunday 18th March, 2018
Our friends at Squash are running the Spring installment of their 'Food For Real' festival next weekend in Liverpool, with lots of activities, cooking, films and gardening. This Spring installment is focused on seeds and planting new ideas, as the first of four planned seasonal events in 2018. The event includes:
- Films - including 2 UK premieres - 'Portrait of a Garden' with filmmaker Q&A https://portraitofagarden.eventbrite.co.uk and 'Grow your Own' https://growyourownliverpool.eventbrite.co.uk - based on the true story of the origins of local Family Refugee Support Project
- Food mapping and local history talk on Saturday morning at Toxteth Library https://foodhistoryfoodfuture.eventbrite.co.uk and the accompanying walk on Saturday afternoon https://foodstreet.eventbrite.co.uk, led by local artist Nina Edge - a look at food along and around Windsor Street - past, present and future
- Hello Spring - a gentle spring breakfast event next Saturday morning 8.30-9.30am in St James Gardens - a refreshing spring stretch, a foraged breakfast, and an equinox spring blessing http://www.foodforreal.co.uk/event/hello-spring/
- Woodland Alchemy - Forest School activities including learning to make charcoal and birch tar https://woodlandalchemysat.eventbrite.co.uk and Sunday morning https://woodlandalchemysun.eventbrite.co.uk
- Ideas sessions - a conversation about a potential food growers network https://foodnodes.eventbrite.co.uk on the Saturday and the Ideas swap on the Sunday, sharing stories about guerilla gardening in Lodge Lane.
All activities are free of charge with a few having the option of paying £3.50 or £5 if people can afford it. All information and booking can be found through www.foodforreal.co.uk. Hope to see you there!
