4x4 Manchester is back
Thursday 7th May, 2015
URBED is helping the Academy of Urbansim and the Urban Design Group organise the 4x4 Manchester talks this year along with our friends at Turley, Creative Concern. Its free and booking is recommended.
4x4 Manchester is a series of talks held every Wednesday in May 2015. 4 speakers will talk for 15 minutes each. There will then be time for lively audience debate. Come along to one or all four!
Each week we will focus on a different area of Manchester which had undergone regeneration. We will invite 4 people involved in the regeneration process at various times back together, for a Reunion. They will be speaking about the project from different perspectives, through this process we will review the regeneration process and outcomes, the successes and failures, as well as give an idea of what the pressures were at the time of designing/ building as well as the future of the area.
4x4 Manchester wants to challenge how you think about your discipline be that architecture, art, music, urban design, planning etc etc. This will not be architects talking about their new buildings or an author promoting their new book; 4x4 wants to promote a real debate about the state of our cities, stimulated by interesting, diverse and provocative speakers.
Venue:
The LectureTheatre is located in the Mabel Tylecote Building which is situated at the corner of Oxford Road and Cavendish Street on the MMU Manchester Campus.
