Routes to Retrofit training

The next Routes to Retrofit training will take place on the 7th and 14th October at Bridge 5 Mill, Manchester. 

Run by Marianne Heaslip and Bill Taylor this ever popular course, taught by experienced industry professionals, supports you to navigate the construction industry, make the most out of your budget, learn to be a discerning customer and how to be a good client.

Carbon Co-op training programme

Monday 11th September, 2017

Carbon Co-op have released their new 2017-2018 training programme. Designed to support householders on their energy efficiency and retrofit journey, it includes everything from a beginners guide through to in-depth sessions on ventilation, off-grid power systems and draught-proofing. Helen Berg

Helen recently joined URBED as a Part 2 architectural assistant after graduating from the University of Sheffield, with a Masters with Distinction for Architecture. Her thesis project contributed to the “Arrival City” studio, exploring the urban impacts of high migration patterns within the city of Offenbach, Germany.

As we approach the end of our research into the environmental cost of flood recovery we can confirm that our findings and the report will be launched on the morning of Thursday 21st September in Cockermouth. We hope you will be able to join us to discuss the findings.

As we approach the end of our research into the environmental cost of flood recovery we can confirm that our findings and the report will be launched on the morning of Thursday 21st September in Cockermouth. We hope you will be able to join us to discuss the findings.

The launch forms part of the Cumbria Green Build Festival and you can book here.

Workshop

On Tuesday 1st August we held a workshop at the council chamber at Allerdale Borough Council in Workington. Around 20 people from various parts of the flood recovery process in Cumbria attended. The county suffers from repeat and extensive flood events, most recently in the winter of 2015/2016. 

AECB conference 2017

Thursday 3rd August, 2017

The Association for Environment Conscious Building (AECB) National Conference 2017, which takes place at the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) in London on 15th September, will show how high quality homes can be delivered in volume.

The theme of the AECB National Conference is: Fixing the housing market by delivering better homes for customers and the planet.
